Raymond King was a legendary Nigerian goalkeeper who made name for himself during his active playing days for Nigerian Premier League side Shooting Stars of Ibadan.
He was in goal for Shooting Stars in 1984 when the Oluyole Warriors entered the final of the CAF Champions League, but lost to Egyptian club Zamalek.
King was at his best in the 1987 FA Cup final helping defunct Abiola Babe to win the title. The former goalkeeper was part of the Flying Eagles squad in 1979/80 hailed from Akwa Ibom state, and he was said to have worked with the Ogun State Sports Council but had been relieved of his duties long before his death.
