US based beauty expert and CEO,
ONYC Hair, Thelma Okoro, has urged Nigerian youths to harness their talents.
She said: “Do not start a business or career in which you have
no interest or knowledge. We cannot all be doctors, nurses and entrepreneurs.
Start a business if you truly understand that business and truly know you have
what it takes. The greatest thing about doing what you love is that the
financial reward is the bonus.”
Speaking on the Nigerian beauty industry, the beauty expert, who
has worked for the likes of Chanel Cosmetics, and Esteem Lauder Cosmetic Company
opened up on her brand.
ONYC Hair is my first Brand. I put in all I have and I am
grateful it became a success. That is why I urge people to follow their
passion. One obstacle does not equate failure. I was duped during the initial
stage of starting my brand. I also had issues with partners overseas that sent
me very low-quality products. If I had given up or been selfish enough to send
bad products to my new customers, I would not be here right now; there wouldn’t
have been ONYC Hair after all these years,” she added.
