The Nigerian movies industry, aptly called Nollywood and its Ghanaian counterpart, Gollywood, has been in a
silent supremacy contest for years now.
The debate as to which movie industry produces the best movies, as well as having the best actors and actresses, has been raging with Nigerians believing that Nollywood stands heads and shoulders ahead of Gollywood.
But Ghanaians will not take it lying low as they have been going to town, claiming that they make better movies, have the best actors and cite the example of Nigerians coming to their land to shoot the movies.
But discerning minds think that if Nollywood did not open the doors for Ghanaian actors, they would not be as popular as they are now.
Even top Ghanaian actor, Majid Michel, the other day, said that Nollywood is the only movie industry in existence in Africa, a statement that made his people call for his head.
So let us take a contest and find out which industry is the better.
