@The political quagmire in River State took a frightening dimension penultimate week when hon. EVANS BIPI a member of the River State of Assembly Loyal to Hon. NYESOM WIKE, refered to an order by the state high court, to stop parading him self as the speaker of the River State House of Assembly as a 'KANGAROO' court order. it could be recalled that Hon. Evans Bipi and four others had made an unsuccessful attempt to impeach the Speaker if the House Hon. Otelema Amachree and others, a move that was foiled by the State Governor and Security Forces.
In the ensuing fracas, the national assembly in the exercise of its constitutional power assumed the legislative duties of the River State legislature.
However Hon. Evans Bipi insist that the controversial impeachment by five members out of the 27 member house which saw him emerging as the speaker, stands. Consequently in a motion brought before the Rivers State High Court challenging his purported election as the speaker, the court granted the relieves sort,and subsequently ordered Hon. Evan Bipi to stop parading him self as the speaker.
@Questions?
how healthy is these to our nascent democracy and the rule of law?
Is hon Evans Bipi justified?
